TeamTBB triathlete David Dellow has won his first ironman title today at the Cairns Airport Ironman 2012 coming in at 08:15:04.
Dellow lead out the swim and the bike before settling back into the pack and making his final move on the run to earn his first Ironman victory.
The race was described by second place getter Cameron Brown described as a ‘tough day’, Dellow raced off with his first ever ironman victory on home soil.
New Zealander Cameron Brown, who led for most of the bike/run race with Victoria’s Luke Bell ran into a hole at the 21km mark and was unable to keep pace with Dellow eventually finishing in second place (8:22:21) with Denmark’s Jimmy Johnsen third.

On another note... While I was in Cairns I took note of how the journalists up this way operate especially their multi-media journalists. Here's why my post-Cairns Ironman googling was like I searched for Marc McCormack who is a photographer for the Cairns Post who has actually received a few awards for his images. He even had a nice collection of news limited supplied camera gear that I eyed off.
